The Clivia miniata is an exquisite and striking indoor plant with its dark green leaves and trumpet-shaped orange flowers. Native to South Africa the Clivia plants are ideal for households and have become quite popular with collectors due to their stunning attraction found in their vivid blooms, which vary in color from pale orange to red.
Environment: Both indoor and outdoor
Light: Bright indirect light but no direct sun. Clivia plants love to go outside in the summer as long they are kept in the shade.
Watering: Water a Clivia Plant well and then allow the top 50% of the soil to dry out before watering again.
Fertilizing: Feed monthly with a balanced indoor plant food diluted to 1/2 the recommended strength. Never fertilize during the 4-6 weeks in the winter when the plant is resting. After the resting period, feed the Clivia plant with a fertilizer high in potassium.
